Left 4 Dead 2

So while playing Left 4 Dead 2 this morning, I started to consider how cool it would be if someone created a movie; plus it would be extremely popular. You would not just have the video game audience, you would also have people who enjoy anything zombie, as well as people who like horror type movies. Plus being one of the most popular games on the market currently, you would hardly need to publicize it, once people hear Left 4 Dead movie, I gurantee you'd have thousands of people interested.
So I got to thinking who would play each of the characters:
well Rochelle was easy for me, I think Jada Pinkett Smith would make an excellent Rochelle, not only does she kinda look like her but she can also be a kind of bad ass at times with a sassy attitude that would be perfect for the character.
Coach was kind of easy for me as well, I think Ving Rhames would play a great Coach, although he is very muscular and not fat like in the video games, he still has the look going for him and having seen him in other zombie movies, I think he would make the perfect character for the movie.
So then I got to thinking who would play Ellis and Nick. Well semi-recently, a few months ago, I saw the movie Legion, and in that movie was Lucas Black and in certain scenes he just really reminded me of Ellis. So I think he would make the perfect Ellis.
Now Nick was a hard one, honestly he kind of looks like Russel Crow so if I were to go by looks, I would choose him to play the character so that we could keep the actors kind of looking like the video game characters. But personality wise, I don't really know so I would just kind of go with him.
So that is who I would cast if I were to make a Left 4 Dead 2 movie, I'm still thinking about the cast of the first movie though and will post later with who I would think would make the perfect characters for that. But I wouldn't just go straight into the zombie killing of this movie, I would start out by showing a little bit of each of their back stories which would help explain how they got to surviving the zombies.

Politics

So I just recently decided that I want to go back to Point Park and double major in Broadcasting and Photography or Photojournalism (not really sure which one I want to do yet or which one would benefit me more). Now as much as I love Point Park, college is not exactly the cheapest thing ever (okay college is just down right ridiculously expensive) and the problem is the prices just continue to go up every year.
So to hear that they are going to screw this up even more and dip into the college money is frustrating. With Obama's new health care deal they will be dipping into the federal money used for student loans and as a student, who is already frustrated with the cost of college, this is incredibly bad news. Now I do believe that everyone deserves health care and that in other countries plans like this do and have worked out for years. My question is why do they have to fuck something else up to fix things? Why can't we just find a reasonable way to fund everything without causing something else to go out of whack? What we need is women who know how to run things on a tight budget, who know how to get things done in as little money as possible without overspending. That's who should be figuring out the budget, the women (and men) who know how to use a tight budget accurately instead of over-spending for ridiculous things.
Pennsylvania state government does it all the time in my opinion. They didn't have enough of a budget to take care of the state when that huge snow storm hit but they sure as hell had enough money to help expand the casinos, which guess what I'm nearly positive that the casinos highest percentage of visitors are over 50 (I did not get this from anything official, this is a guess from my own experience). So you are promoting gambling for older people to take their money away and then you have a bunch of people unable to pay anything because they hope to retire and live off of lottery winnings and that is not idealistic.
What needs to happen is people need to voice their opinions more and unfortunately people just don't care. They figure hey if it doesn't affect me what does it matter, but it does affect everyone whether you can realize it or not. Did you know there are more states that allow marriage between first cousins then there are states that it is legal for homosexuals to get married. I mean that is just disgusting and ridiculous, and whatever happened to the separation of church and state because when it comes down to it the reasoning behind people not allowing gays to get married is always because of religion.
Anyway that rant just turned into an even bigger one then I meant it to be. Either way I am sick of the government screwing everyone over and over-spending the budget on things that are stupid and ridiculous. And I am sick of how things are run any more, everything is for the money and its disgusting what things have become. Anyway, not really sure what triggered this rant but I'm annoyed!

Phipp's Conservatory

So today my mom, sister, grandmother, and myself all went to Phipps Conservatory. A yearly tradition for us to do and we of course enjoyed it immensly, as we do every year. I love to take pictures of flowers so it's always one of my favorite places to go. Unfortunately I am still getting used to my new camera and certain areas of the conservatory were just too dark even with the flash, however, I still got some really, really nice pictures so I'm going to post some of my more favorites. Because everybody loves my pictures, my mother is of course offering me up to friends and family, not that I mind, I often offer myself because going to the studios nowadays is getting rather expensive (I had a job interview at one of the studios, which I will not mention the name, but it is one that my mother had taken me to when I was a kid...anywho they did not care how well you could take a picture, all they cared about is how well you can sell, and the woman showed me a picture frame and asked me to guess the price, well it was a larger one that held up to 5 pictures, but it was very cheap looking and rather plain so I guessed around $75, it was $150...how ridiculous is that). Anywho I disagree with studios, I understand they are a business just like anyone else but at the same time people are getting pictures taken to make memories and it is supposed to be an enjoyable, stress free experience for everyone and yet every time I am in one the people responsible for choosing and paying for pictures are annoyed beyond belief and frustrated to the point that they do begin to nitpick at little things and they feel so sick to their stomach at that point that picture day becomes one of the most hated events for a family. Which is why if I ever do open up my own photography studio, it will be my mission to make sure that customers actually enjoy it and are able to make happier memories.
So below are some of my favorite pictures of the day:

Double Wide Grill

So today after visiting the flower show, my family and I went to the Double Wide Grill, located in South Side. Now I will say their brunch menu is not overly impressive but I did enjoy the fact that they cater to vegetarians/vegans as well. I however am not a breakfast fan so I decided to order a bbq chicken salad which was really, really good unfortunately the service is horrible. The servers rarely check to see how you are doing and we sat and waited for over 15 minutes waiting for the waitress to come to take the bill. Once we did receive the bill, we found some strange charges on the bill. My sister ordered buffalo chicken tenders and asked for a side of ranch dressing and honey mustard, they charged her for both. On my salad, I ordered cheese and french fries, now I can understand charging me extra for the french fries but I found it a bit absurd that they would charge extra for the cheese. I have ordered it at other restaurants and not been charged a thing so I found that a bit annoying. Plus the waitress asked my mother what type of bread she wanted and so my mother assumed that she got bread with her meal but instead it turns out that the bread was an extra side however the waitress made it seem as if it just came with the meal. Not only that but my sister was very displeased with the cleanliness of the restaurant. She said that hanging off of one of the display pieces she saw a large chunk of hair as well as there was grease and dust on top of the displays that they had. So if you are in South Side, the food is good but the wait staff is very poor and they charge you for petty things and that is unfortunate for the uniqueness of the restaurant.

Hot Tub Time Machine

So before I went all depressed and down on myself yesterday, which I'm fine today, I went to see Hot Tub Time Machine. This movie is ridiculously funny and so enjoyable. Now I wasn't born in the 80's so some of the little jokes I didn't quite get but those who went through that era I'm sure would love it and even younger generations will love it.

It got me thinking though. If you had the opportunity to go back in time, would you change things. Now I try to live my life with no regrets but sometimes I think that if I could go back I would do things a little differently. I would have worked harder in school instead of blowing off homework, I would have taken better care of Caddy, though I'm still 100% positive that it was the previous owners fault and not my own, and there are a few other things that I would go back and try to fix before it got worse. Like I said I try not to regret things, but I know some things would be a lot easier had something else happened. But then it comes back to me, what if you can't change anything you did in the past, what if everything in your life is already predestined to happen. Now I do not believe in that, I believe we all have the ability to make our own decisions but what if we can't. I don't know, I think about strange things like this all the time so who knows.

Anywho, the movie is excellent and if you have never even heard of it check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DCFPS58KYY and there is the trailer.

Gives Up

I just don't care anymore. I don't know what to do, I always have a positive attitude but why, what's the point anymore. I'm jobless, I'm moneyless, I have no idea on what I want for my future, I have no car, I can't do anything. I barely even have a social life anymore, I mean whats the point of caring and working hard when it doesn't even pay off. People just continue to disappoint you anyway and I've tried to think positive and keep myself on a good track but it's so hard when nothing is going right. I'm 18 years old, I have no clue what I want to do and every time I think of something, somebody gives me their opinion of how my life should go, where I should go to find a job, what I should do with my friends. It just seems that nobody cares how I feel about anything anymore and I'm just so sick of it. I give up, I just want to go someplace else, anywhere but here. I just want to not have to worry about money but everywhere I turn there's something else I need to help out with. These are supposed to be some of the best times of my life and yet I find myself sitting alone with myself most of the time and I dread those moments because they are the moments that I realize I'm nothing and that I don't even matter.

Julie & Julia

So I just finished watching the movie Julie & Julia and I absolutely loved it. It is really inspiring how those two women went from doing stuff they hated and worked to do something they loved. The concept, cooking 500+ recipes in a year, seems crazy but exciting and interesting all at the same time. Being that I love to cook, I would love to have the money to make whatever I want whenever I went but unfortunately I am stuck on a tight budget, at least until I find myself a job. Anywho I highly recommend the movie and a friend of mine said the book was also very good so that is now on my list to read as well, a very long list I may add. Hopefully I will get back to my cooking soon and be able to post pictures and recipes of my delicious meals. :)

Life and what to do with it?

So I really do not know what to do. I keep thinking "what do I want to do with the rest of my life" and I honestly every time come up blank. I love to cook, but I love to cook "normal people food", I do not do gourmet foods and unfortunately the people who are chefs who make a good living are typically gourmet. So that takes me to photography, well unfortunately you have to be a certain type of photographer to make good money and although money is not everything in life, I want to be able to live life comfortably and eventually have a career that I can raise a family off of. Not that that is going to happen any time soon but you have to look into the future to decide something like this. For a while I wanted to be a forensic scientist but I had problems with that because of the physics. So then I thought into Nursing school, however the school near me that has the best program, I wouldn't be able to join for two years just because of all the things you have to do just to be considered into the program. So I go back to thinking nothing and so I have no clue. I don't even know what to do to help me, I have taken tests that have said what I would be good at by my personality and they are typically psychologist, social worker, teacher and I have thought about psychology but once again I go back to wanting to make a comfortable living and if I do go into doctoral school there is a possibility of me becoming very successful but that could be a long while from now. So I basically have no clue on what to do and it's annoying and I just keep going over things in my head and honestly it's becoming exhausting.

I enjoy taking pictures of pretty much everything but one of my favorite things to take pictures of is flowers. Luckily I live pretty close to a conservatory that has nice arrangements of plants from all over the world and the picture I have here were took last year sometime and are some of my favorites.

I also took pictures for a friend of the family's when they got their dog Cejai and below are a couple of my favorite pictures.

Degrassi Spoof

So I just found out that this youtube actor Shane Dawson has created a second part to a Degrassi spoof and I got super excited. So I decided I would post both of them on here. If you haven't seen the series then you probably wouldn't understand why they were funny but somebody such as myself who have religiously watched the show since it started would probably think they were hilarious just because of how true they are. Unfortunately it is not cooperating for me and won't let me put the whole video on here so I will just post the links for it.

So I was basically peer pressured into starting a blog not that I don't have plenty to talk about I just have a habit of starting blogs and forgetting about them. I like to cook and take pictures so I will probably have some of my work on here. But I also have interests in politics and civil rights and movies, music, videogames, books, and an assortment of other things so I will probably use this to rant. Another thing I enjoy doing is thinking about different story ideas and film ideas and it wasn't until recent that I actually began writing them so I may start posting sections of them on here as well. So, I'm just kinda hoping to inspire people to talk more about what they believe in as well as get some discussions on certain matters and also have people enjoy my work.
